I live in Boca and was thinking about taking a ride up to Hobe Sound/Stuart area to try for Pompano from the beach. I was wondering if anyone has any reports on how the fishing has been for them lately and which area is the best to go?
For what it is worth, the guy at the bait shop here in Vero said the Commercial guys have been doing pretty well on them. Not sure of the area (I would presume in the Vero Cove).
I tried Hobe Sound Beach yesterday and I can tell you there are no Pompano there. Fished from 1pm-6pm and only caught a couple Whiting. There were a bunch of other people fishing also and no one else caught any Pomps either.
