And don't forget the Doctors who run the pill mills (aka Pain Clinics) and who write the prescriptions.

Many of the doctors were deceived by the salesmen and promoters from Perdue Pharma.

They pushed Oxycontin at higher dosages, claiming it wan't addictive, when they knew better.

Government "watchdogs" were pressured to go light on "industry", and had their budgets cut.

"Burdensome regulations" and "job-killing rules" were just ignored, for decades.

You will never convince me that the Doctors running these pill mills and most "pain" clinics didn't know exactly what they were doing, making money at the expense of other people's lives.

No doubt many "pill mills" were run by unscrupulous people ... and state authorities let it happen.

But, many people were strung out after being prescribed drugs after normal procedures.

One reason was the "detail men" ( and women ) who went to doctors offices to encourage high doses.

Another reason was the promotion of "pain management" in the entire medical community.

The pendulum swung way too far in the direction of alleviating all pain, all the time.

Now, we're stuck with the aftermath, and must pay the piper.

Government didn't care when poor Black & Brown people were strung out.

Even poor Whites were off the radar when addicted ... not anymore.

I agree but also agree with Ferris. Yes in the beginning the Drs. might not have realized what was going on but should have caught on real quick if they were Drs for the right reasons.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you
