Best Land Based opportunities Jan 1-4. Ft Lauderdale Area

I’m going to be in the Ft Lauderdale area Jan 1-4 with my 13 yr old son for the Middle School All American Football game.   We have practice in the mornings but our afternoons are free. What kind of fishing opportunities are there in your area this time of year?

We catch plenty of Trout, Redfish, Flounder......but neither of us have ever caught a Snook or Peacock Bass.

Doesn't matter what we catch, just looking to stretch some lines and kill a few hours in the afternoons.

not too familiar with the area, but it is tough on foot to get access to the water. I would bet some live shrimp under any bridges. or jetties your allowed to fish could get anything from snook, little snappers, jacks cuda etc.

if you search the threads especially angle on foot some people shared some ponds and lakes with possible peacocks
Make the forum great again.....consolidate general fishing with for sale or business but keep reports separate!

Live shiners around any bridge or culvert. Private lakes are great, if you dont have access the Griffen Road Canal has plenty of peacocks. #4 shiner hook or circle hook, no weight or float .
