Land based fishing options Jan 1-4

I’m going to be in the Ft Lauderdale area Jan 1-4 with my 13 yr old son for the Middle School All American Football game.   We have practice in the mornings but our afternoons are free. What kind of fishing opportunities are there in the area this time of year?

Your question would be better on the South section which covers Ft. Lauderdale.  There is great Snook fishing on the Beach north of the Dania Beach Fishing Pier.  It is also very good on the jetty at John Lloyd State Park, it has a new name but everyone knows it as John Lloyd.  Casting lures and DOA Bait Buster, Terrorize or CAL's parallel to the beach works well.
