advice needed for taking kids shore/surf fishing/ St. Marks vicinity

Hello all, I will be in the Tallahassee (I live on East Coast/Melbourne) area over the weekend, hoping to take a couple kids shore/surf fishing.Looking for suggestions for the closest places at the coast. Mostly just hoping to bend the pole for the kids, but can be prepared for any surf/inshore fishing (pompano/blues/sheepshead/black drum etc) any suggestions of where to try,and where to buy bait as well would be greatly appreciated. This time of yr I usually shore fish under the Apalachicola bridge on the east end.  There's a good bait store in East Point Fishermans Choice is the name I think.  Right on 98.

It's a good ways from St. Marks but no ones giving you a good fishing spot.

The best time is right before daylight or evening.

Not a shore fisherman so I can't help you.  Here a lot of people talk about Bald State park.
