Does anyone know any good places for Tarpon near Englewood/Lemon Bay? I am only in town a few more days and don't mind driving some. We are fishing out of our kayaks and looking for backwater type locations. Thanks!
Lemon Bay doesn't get a lot of tarpon for some weird reason. There's little groups of Juvis but they are few and far between. Your best bet from a yak is Tom Adams bridge at about 4am with some 4" long finger mullet. Otherwise you're just going to have to get lucky and stumble on them. Tough to do from a kayak. You could try Boca Pass but good luck keeping up with the tide right now. It's pretty much the last place in the ocean you want to fall out of your yak between the sharks and current.
