If you want to do inshore , I would head south to Quepos and charter , gives you a better chance by being able to fish off Dominical . There aren't any tarpon in the Pacific though .
You could fish with Roy if you want monster snook . He's a multiple record holder http://zapatafishing.com/
Or for roosters , sails , marlin etc you could fish with John's guys http://www.queposfishadventure.com/ He has multiple boats and should be able to accommodate your group . Call and see he stays pretty booked , and he can arrange cheaper transport to Quepos for you . Don't be scared of the budget price , these guys will bust their **** to put you on fish . I'd still be fishing with them if I wasn't fishing with the private boat .
We're going down the week after you, and fishing one day inshore and one day offshore with John's guys at Quepos Fish Adventure. He says the tuna fishing's been amazing all summer, and they're seeing good sized snook and big roosters on the inshore trips.
When in Quepos , you should go have dinner/drinks here and watch the sunset . It's a 5 minute cab ride up into Manuel Antonio https://www.elavion.net/ You also might see some monkeys in the tree canopy below .
There is an authentic Italian restaurant , with a pizza shop a couple doors down that my buddies like . I know a lot of the places , but don't know the names of most of them .
If you are staying in the Kamuk/Best Western , you can have Mira Flores cook your catch . It's upstairs over the casino , they will also store your catch for you .
In Marina Pez Vela , We eat/drink at Runaway Grill a lot , just cause it's close to the boat . Gabriella's upstairs has great food , I haven't been in there in a while .
The best breakfast in the marina is in the bodega ( come down stairs and it's immediately on the left ) They have a mini kitchen setup in back of store and you tell her what you want , and get a big plate to go .
You guys should have no problem bringing 36 can softsided coolers full of YFT as carry on back home . You might even be able to use a 48 can , not sure of the C/O measurements .
Have your driver stop at the Tarcoles river ( before Jaco) so you can walk out on the bridge and check out the Crocs . Many years ago you could buy live chickens and lower them on a string and feed them lol
One of the guys that's leading my group talked to Mike Alligood. He said he is booked but he's turned us on to a handful of guys he recommends. Depending on the number of guys in our party that wants to fish we're probably going to go on "Who's your daddy 1" or "Who's your daddy 2. if we have more than 6 we'll bump it up to a bigger boat.
I'd really like to fish on one of those Topaz's because those are on my short list of boats I'm looking at as my next ride.
Fished the WYD 1. Ok boat will get job done. Fished Roosters at the negretos, then hit Isla Tortuga for a break. Jig up blue runners and slow trolled over sea mounts. Caught 10 roostes up to 60 lbs and several amberjacks. Fiahed Mychela and tres amigos offshore. Nicer boats all caught fish!
Used to have access to a condo in Hermosa. Made many many trips. My info may be a couple years old but feel to PM me any questions about the trip. You will have fun!!
I'm just happy we're getting the chance to fish. Originally we weren't going to because we were really going down to hook up with our buddy. He's had some health problems. He's doing better and said he wants to spend the day out on the water with us. I'm sure we'll have a blast and catch a few fish.
Another recommendation to fish with Capt Mike on Epic, we chartered him and had an awesome day with loads of Tuna to eat for the week and brought some back. We also fished a local panga just offshore of Jaco beach and landed some huge rooster fish.

For some reason I have to change my password every time I try to log in. This site is circling the drain and it seems mgt doesn't gaf.
Anyway, our trip was fantastic. Got in to Jaco Fri afternoon. Hit the beach bar on the South end of Jaco and surfed for a few hours. Perfect 4'ers for the long board.
Sat we fished. WYD2 Went South with a handful of other boats. Caught a Blue about 350. My buddy caught a nice Striped marlin who put on quite a show. Another guy caught a sail so we got our Grand Slam. Found a huge school of spinner dolphin and managed a nice 60lb yellowfin.
WYD1 went West. They caught a sailfish, saw a free jumping blue and trolled past a sunning sailfish that one of the guys almost touched the sail from the cockpit. They were around tuna but did not catch one.
Took the tuna we caught to Lemon Zest and Ivan served us a 5 course Tuna dinner.
Jeffery, our driver, was excellent. $110 each way from San Jose to Jaco. He basically was on call all weekend and killed it for us in many ways.
Bring your full riot gear for the Co Cal "Casino". Holy ****, those Columbian girls are agressive.
Glad to hear you had a great trip , the casino is always fun . I'll be headed back down in a couple weeks . Lot's of big dolphin caught lately . Recent tourney results were all 50 lb class fish , winner was 58 lbs .
I just got back on Monday , fishing was kinda slow out of LS and Quepos the last couple weeks . At least within charter range , we headed south and fished halfway to Golfito . I think it was 14 sails , 1/2 on blues (double) , kept a dozen mahi and released at least 3 dozen more over 2.5 days . I'll post a report soon .

Getting 7 or 8 people on one boat might be a problem , you might want to split the group on 2 boats .
In Los Suenos Mike Alligood on the Epic http://www.epicfishingcostarica.com/
In Quepos (hour south of you )

Maybe we'll split groups, one inshore, one off and swap for day 2.
Thanks!
