PLEASE DEFER TO DOCKED WAGES THREAD FOR AID
All of us who have been lucky enough to enjoy the Bahamas should be thinking about how we are going to help our friends there. It looks as though we are going to dodge a bullet with Dorian but at the expense of the islands. Let's put our heads together and get a local relief effort started. I have a 28' Mckeecraft that i will be taking over as soon as the weather clears enough to cross safely. I will pack as much as i can and would welcome others to join me. My family and i were in West End for the start of lobster season on what i am afraid will be our last trip for awhile. I am thinking we need to concentrate on the essentials and welcome any input but at least the following:
Tarps
Screen
Plywood
General construction materials including nails, screws and other fasteners
Water
Non perishable food
Personal Hygiene items
Clothing
Please add anything you can think of to this thread. I hope to be able to get over this weekend or next week. Again as soon as it is safe to do so.

And I will avail myself if any boat needs to add one to its crew for a crossing.
Please message me.

A little background info; what started out as a small group of people on the Facebook page HeadKnowles, founded by myself, Lia Head and Gina Knowles, has now become a movement fueled by people eager to give back. We have managed over $2M in relief funds Hurricane Joaquin relief in 2015. Once again in 2016, we established a committed group of volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist those devastated during Hurricane Matthew for Ragged Island, North Andros, Grand Bahama and New Providence. In that effort, which is still ongoing, we have managed over $4mil to date.
