A couple more

I figured I better put these up before I forget.

Tuesday was a mixed bag of stuff with 7 snook 3 trout 2 jacks and a cuda. I looked for a Red in a lot of places but never saw one. The saving grace was one of the snook was very nice.

Everything was on a Key Lime CAL

Wednesday was way slower numbers wise but I did get what I needed. First spot was a decent snook and a short move and I had a Red.

As can happen this time of year around here It took a bit of looking to get a small trout but that made #42   I kept at it and got one more mid slot trout and a jack.

Today I had an issue right from the start...apparently my trolling motor battery went bad. I charged it but the red indicator of low battery was on when I hooked it up. I did not know how much battery I was going to have today.  My first spot was empty but my second spot I got 4 snook out of. I moved on and I kept grinding along and pulled 3 more snook and a slot trout. I happened on a little spot with some small wigglers so i tossed the net and got half a dz. I then spent 2 and a half hours looking...but just when I was ready to throw in the towel.

....and another one today plus a bonus.

Lucky for me I got to the ramp a few minutes before the boat parade began. Hard to believe people are so charged up about getting 1 snapper a person even in the face of not that great weather and a fairly long ride out...but I guess that a derby type season brings that out in people. When I got out it looked like the Gold rush had begun from both ramps.
I hit my first spot and pulled a decent lower 20's snook and jumped another off before all the boat wakes made me quit the spot.  I hit two other spots with nobody home and headed to a trout spot. My first one was a nice mid slot fish which had me hopeful but after that it was 5 small ones.  I kept moving and then got on another decent snook bite. They were whacking little sub wiggler sized mullet and the CAL was doing big business. I caught 8 more snook and got the money fish too.

    7:45 and that is #44

I kept poking around and caught 2 more snook and then I had an odd bite...and fight...I'm glad the net was at the ready and not tangled up in stuff. It shook the jig in the net.

    No bonus today....
I ramped in Wabasso to avoid the snapper madness at Yacht club ramp and ran North. My average on snook was unimpressive as I was only 3 for 7. I just kept losing them on the jump.  As is the case the past few days my first trout was a nice one....then I would catch a bunch more small ones. I think I caught 7..or 8. Amd I did actually see this Red which was amazing because there was heavy cloud cover and the water was not exactly clean but it stuck out among the mullet that it was with.
