Nice Trout

The last few days have been generally OK on the Trout and snook front...except Saturday. It was a total stinker. I went to the same spot that I have been catching topwater trout. Everything *looked* the same...but after an hour and 15 minutes...not one strike! Mullet everywhere but nobody would play. It was weird. I finally left and found a couple small ones down by Vero. By that time the snook were way back under the mangroves and only got a few small ones.
Also, lately the Redfish were very tough. I didn't even see one on Sunday or Monday. The heat has been tough to deal with too.

Tuesday was a better day....because this is how it started....

A 27 incher is a good start.

I opted out of the topwater trout thing and started snook fishing with the CAL....and ran the score up to 6 before it was finally light enough to get serious about looking for a Red.  It took a while to find conditions but when I did...I found what I was looking for.

8:35 and that makes #32

I fished 1 more hour and lost what I think was a red up under a dock... I had to mow my lawn and the storms have been making that impossible lately. At the ramp before 10.

Yesterday was a grind. I caught 3 small snook pretty quick....then took 2 hours to catch 1 dang Trout! I did catch a jack that was followed right to the boat by a Trout.....so I knew I was in the right area but they just were not really biting. I did not see one Red. I quit at 10 but spent 45 fruitless minutes looking for baits....

Today was much better. First stop I catch 2 nice 24-25 inch snook on a Key Lime CAL.  I run south and start hitting spots....numerous and nothing. I am talking on speaker phone with my best friend up in Michigan and start to catch trout. I catch 5 slots in 20 minutes before our phone call is over and I'm off to find a Red.  I see a couple but get refused.
I'm heading to the ramp but the big barge that is there dismantling the old catwalk in in the ramp loading stuff...so I go north to look around......and I found this...
