I haven’t been offshore recently and I am going on Friday for ARS and wondered what depth people are seeing them this year? Also and Mahi and tuna around? And last has anyone fished the roatan recently?

Small ones in 120 ft everywhere.  Bigger fish 160 to 170.

Was out 6/11.  Fished to 148’ with family (not hard core fisherman). 57 miles off Sanibel.  No snapper (have caught them years past but don’t have lots of spots saved). While on a hot grouper bite ~140’ had a school of 25-30” Mahi show up and my 12 year old and I were each able to land one.  Lots of Sargassum out deep.  Got chased off by T-storms around 1:30.  Had a great time despite no snapper

I’m heading out to 180 on Friday and hitting some spots around 130 on the way in.

175-230 for 25’ plus fish. I would imagine you’d like to at least get them over this size if your spending the gas $ to hunt them. Keep in mind, Big Gags and Scamp are in play here also. Was out yesterday and limited out on ARS in under 30 minutes and got 2 scamp, 3 Gag and 7 RG all over 28’. Largest being a scamp at 34. Gags were 27, 28 and 32. ARS WERE ALL 25’ and 5 over 30’, largest at 32. Bring 10oz lead, pretty good current out there. 260 heading out of Gasparilla, get out deep and start shopping.

Tried some bottom by the roatan and didn’t catch any good fish, fished some spots on the way in and didn’t catch much else.
