Destin Trip Mid July

I have always wanted to bring the boat over to Destin and plan on coming over mid July. My girlfriend wants to do the Crab Island thing and I plan to fish some.

The fact that it is peak season makes any accommodations that offer on site parking for the boat and trailer impossible to find. I am still looking but currently have reservations for an hotel near Niceville with a nearby boat ramp  The problem is parking is limited there as well. I spoke with someone at the hotel and they stated that it is common for people to park their boat on the side of the road coming into the hotel.

I like having a back up plan so I have been searching for short term  boat storage. So far I have limited results. Any information on short term storage, accommodations, bars, restaurants and must do things in the area would be much appreciated.

While out on Crab Island, boat over to Dewey Destin's Seafood to eat.  It's just a few hundred yards from Crab Island.  Pull your boat up to their pier & eat on the picnic tables on their dock.  The fried stuffed shrimp are to die for.

Thanks for the info on the restaurant. I changed reservations to Fort Walton beach and found a place for short term storage. I have never been big on leaving the boat somewhere but options were limited.

Check out sandpiper cove. They have condos and boat slips and ramp. Right condo you can keep trailer there. End of harbor but great getaway.
