Still going

The streak that is... each day puts the odds lower but today was pretty good with only one major malfunction.
I hit the ramp about right on time...secured the #1 parking spot that jhdog13 got yesterday.  LOL
A little more wind than I thought so I ran to a wind swept point. There was nothing on the point but just beyond it I pulled two decent trout and lost another.  I made a small move to hit another point and got a little snook. The next spot was two ladyfish and another snook ...before hooking this....

And yes, my legs are pasty...today was my first trip in shorts...don't worry...they will get a lot darker!
So, 6:47 AM and that is #14 and 9 in a row.  At this point I'm not holding my breath on how long I can keep it going...each one lowers the odds. Still, I was very happy and felt I could take a boat ride and try and find a spot out of what was now a smartly freshening breeze. It was early so I hit one more point and got another snook on the Key Lime CAL.  Then left.

I ran south and stopped and looked at two spots but didn't even do anything more than look...water was totally wrecked.
Kept moving and looking till I found better water and a good bunch of bait. I think I bumped a fish but this might be him...about 30 yards down...

Oh man...27 and 13/16 th's ...

I kept looking and found another like it...and here is that malfunction I was talking about.... I pitched out to the fish and it turned and before I  could even react...ran over an oyster bar and the line parted....but at the leader knot...so not sure what exactly happened.
Re-rigged and kept at it...saw a couple big snook and then got a refusal from a VERY nice Tarpon....spooked a big Red...but got the right presentation on this one.

It was just before 10 AM and now the wind was really up...I decided to try and secure a couple baits to use tomorrow ...and it was harder than anticipated...took almost an hour to find the eight I wanted.
Back on the trailer at 11.

No,  There is a memorial service for a young fellow I know that passed on way too young. He was a member here way back in the day.

    I'll just put this here....

Today was hard...but luck was with me...somewhat.
I went to try the point from yesterday for trout but nobody was home. So, I moved a bit and saw a big wad of bait that looked promising. It was kind of a cluster...I had on a live bait jig ( I don't pinch the barbs on them because the mullet will wiggle off) and it was wedged in the mouth hinge and I could not get it out in the water...I had to use a gripper to hold her to pop it out. As you can see...It was still early. I was still in my regular glasses and no hat.

I moved and found a small snook so I could move on and try to upgrade later.
I was unsure of which way to go...and while North had not been good...it was early and the tide was low...I had a place I wanted to look and it was only a mile or so away...so off we go.

I get there and it is too early and cloudy to see but it is a good Redfish spot for blind casting.....and....

    a five spotter...

So, 7:43 and that is #15 and 10 in a row...

It went downhill fast....  I ran south to get a wind shadow...saw a couple snook that would not eat....then pulled the hook on a nice Red...and the worst...Found a NICE snook...probably slot or better....get the take and fight it out to open water...everything is going my way... till.... Apparently she had just enough gas left to jump and throw the hook...UGH!

Bait was no help today...everything on the Key Lime CAL...

Today was the tie.... I had a streak last year at 11 straight.

It was a little windier than predicted so I stayed with my previous days plan. The first spot gave up 2 ladyfish...then a bluefish....but it did have a trout too so off we go. Next spot is empty but I kept moving around the area till I got a small snook. I then went to check a redfish spot and only saw one scoot off. I did get another snook though.
I ran back north to yesterdays spot but the water was all junked up and by the time I saw a fish..it was already spooked by me. It was already 9:15 so I headed back south and bumped into topwater guy at the causeway.
We chatted a minute before I headed back south. The wind was really pretty strong putting out a big wind ripple but I saw a couple fish. I jumped off a nice snook and caught a Tarpon...which was nice. It was a bit of a struggle but
    I finally saw a Redfish...two actually....but got a take and....

    So, that's #11 in a row ... and 16 so far...

Well, it was Mothers day and I expected very few early fisherman. I went to the Celebration of life for one of our own Jimmy Schick yesterday up in Merrit island so I got to bed kinda late (for me)
So, I overslept today.  You can imagine my dismay at being the 4th truck at the ramp.

Anyway, I really can't believe I still have a streak going....today was 13 in a row. This is now two past my previous record that I set last year.
I can say that the fishing was not spectacular with 3 snook and 1 trout...which took 4 different spots to find...and finding decent water was not easy .....But, was able to sight up a Red.
