Can anyone suggest a good spot to catch wild shiners in the Palatka area?

You might can buy some from Howard's in Orange Spgs., 352-546-1213.
They are pretty tough to catch this time of year.

I use to find them by smacking a wet piece of bread on the water and throwing a cast net on it after a few minutes. They use to be in every lake.

Anyone know if the store bought (non golden) shiners are sterile or can they breed?

I don't believe they are sterile but I don't think they can survive here because of higher water temperatures.
