It will make a beautiful mosque when the renovation is complete.
The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.

My reaction was terrorism, but reports say it was because of ongoing renovations.  I guess we will see.

Its only 850 years old, they can rebuild it.  What a shame.  Leave it to todays times to destroy it.

The contractor for the renovations is listed as Allahu Akbar Construction & Jihad, LLC.

Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

That appears to me to be the easiest way to get the wrong kind of people on the site and  into places that normally are off limits.
Strange coincidence Easter is this Sunday.

Yeah, the Easter part is what gets me the most.  Easter is this weekend, and one of the most famous Christian religious sites isn't just on fire, but engulfed in flames.....  coincidences do happen, but I'm having a hard time buying this was an accident.  Just seems fishy, from a knee jerk reaction perspective.  I hate being this way, but that is my honest opinion at this point.

I'll wait until the facts come out to form an opinion on what happened.

I just heard that a very influential American was eyeing the site for a casino.....
But..….I'll wait until the facts come out to form an opinion on what happened.

You should wait until the facts come out to form an opinion on what happened.

It's pretty difficult for me to generate any sympathy for the Catholic Church.

The timing is perfect for terrorism. It would be a huge statement religiously and politically to destroy one of the oldest churches. Hope I'm wrong

Nothing new. some people just celebrate seeing history being destroyed. It all comes back to you in the end though

It's pretty difficult for me to see you point since no one is saying I feel bad for the catholics, Notre Dame is burning.

If youre going to burn a bridge, dont just burn it, use C4 and make a statement.

As a catholic its sad to see such a beautiful cathedral burned down.

As an American citizen and someone who appreciates historical monuments, its sad to see such an incredible piece of history and such a grand monument burned down in hours. Its heart breaking because its been such a piece of influence for much of our time. I hope they can rebuild it but they will never gain what is lost.

    What a shame!
Aren't those buildings mostly stone and fire proof?.

On a side note that was one of the stops my son was going to next week on vacation. He's pretty bummed.
