We will be camping in a couple of weeks at Rocky bayou. We have kayaks and will be fish in the bayou and maybe the beach. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

I must say I have been in this area since 1985 and Rocky Bayou is one of the toughest places to learn to fish around this whole area. Now with that being said there are tons of fish to be caught there, but it is more of a live bait area to me. I use just lures so my success has been limited there. Just fish the shoreline on the same side of the bayou you launch from and live bait the deep water docks on the southeast side of the bridge. You can also catch some trout on live shrimp under a popping cork on south side of the bride in the middle. Good luck and let me know.
    Kayak Rookie...and loving it.
Fishing beautiful Destin / Ft Walton Beach area!
