Costa Rica trip report 3-2019

pjepje Orlando , FlPosts: 769 Officer
March 29-31

We had a mix-up with Sansa on an early flight , so we flew Skyway instead , not a bad alternative 5-10 minutes faster as well . Got to the boat and headed out around 10 am or so . Fishing has been off , so we headed north . The Los Suenos Triple Crown was going on at the same time , and we would occasionally fish amongst the LS boats over the next 4 days . We went 4/10 on sails due to Tommy's learning curve with circles , and a couple mahi . Saw some big YFT under the spinner dolphin , but didn't get them to bite the entire trip . We over-nighted offshore to get an early start on Friday .

Day 2

Started off kinda slow ended up going 4/7 on sails , and got Tommy his first blue . Actually was a double with a mahi , seems like the blue may have been stalking the mahi . Always cool to put someone on their first marlin .

Day 3

Another kinda slow day with a late start , got 4 sails again , but not much action otherwise .

Day 4

Had another buddy join us , but fishing really seemed to have dropped off . Went 2/3 on sails , and a couple mahi .

Hopefully the fishing will pick back up soon . I can't wait for FAD season ....
