It's heating up... 8 tarpon tonight

Had about a 2 hour window where we jumped 8 tarpon tonight towards the end of the outgoing.  Smiles for miles.  Half on baitbusters and half on Hogys.  Probably could have gotten a few more as they were popping all around us but we had to head in.  Bummer.

I am glad I got the hook up with the tranx 400 that was one of my goals to see how it handled. Probably practice with it a little more first haven't used a baitcaster in years. My only regret is not having more mud on my shoes. Well one more I wish I would of caught more lady fish. The look on yout face everytime I would swing it in the boat is priceless "not in the boat!" Lol

Only gonna get better as that moon gets smaller.

On a related point, the best bites (outside of moonrise/moonset and doing the type of fishing I suspect you are doing) are typically are as the current is starting to die out (either incoming our outgoing) -- so your observation on timing from last night doesn't come as a surprise to me and I would echo them for whatever that's worth.

lol... I've had a few rods/reels and rod holders broken by them when they decide to jump in the boat.  Talk about chaos.  My goodness.
