Any info when smaller 50-75hp engines will get updates/upgrades?

Holding out hope that Evinrude will upgrade/update the 75hp engine this year. Might have to go with the Yamaha 70hp as the weight advantage is pretty substantial, (253 vs 323).  I would think the market would be good for a light 70-75hp two stroke for skinny water skiffs. I read something that said updates for the smaller engines should be in 2019- fingers crossed.

Evinrude management stated a few years ago that G2 technology will trickle down through the Evinrude lineup but did not give a timeline for every engine family. You can be sure that the research and development department is working on various projects like that.

Evinrude keeps information about upcoming products very close to their vest, but if new models are introduced, you will read about it here.
