28 Feb 2019...Wabasso/Vero… Water is real dirty again. Another day with the popping cork, getting used to having that much leader below something. First stop, North end of Pine island. First cast, short Trout. Third cast, a 17 “ Trout. More bumps and thumps, but nothing big enough to hook. South to Hobart Landing, good flow and bait, players scarce. 23 inch Snook out of the Mangroves. Small Ladies and Jacks on the flat. Found a school of short Blues, fun for a few minutes. Decide to work the Sisters. North Sister an 18 inch Trout and a Lost Sheepshead, ¼ inch short. South Sister a pair of low slot Trout Nasty bottom to surface weed showing up again. This stuff winds up in the trolling motor real bad. Spoil islands, short Trout. Grand Harbor, South flat another slot Trout. Skipped a big Pompano, quick cast, short Trout, another cast another short Trout. Hit a legal Snapper and a few more shorts. Try past the bridge, Ladies all over. Back out to the South bridge, small Jacks seem to be gone. Long cast next to the pilings, bump. Good hookup, thinking big Sheepie, work it out and away from the pilings, a 5 plus pound Drum. With that and a Trout, 2 legs of the Family Slam, searching for a Red. Estuary, nothing. Head back North to the Pine Island mud. Just know that there will be a Red today. 7 Snook and no Red. Fouled a ball of old mono on the electric. Been in the water for a while, had growth in it. Quacker hunters have made major modifications to some of the Mangroves. On the way out nice thump, whole lot of disappointment, a Mullet ate the Baby Vudu. Definitely a strange Red. Stopped at Pine Island on the way home, short Trout and Ladies. All players released for another day.

I have little hope on Reds with this real dirty water since I sight them up....iT has been aweful lately.
The up side is I'm seeing Pompano skip...and catching some big ones on CAL's... and they eat good!
PS...Solid presentation at the club the other night....although I think some of it went over their heads.
Many things to do.
Knots to be unraveled
