22 Feb 2019...Wabasso/Vero...Convinced the War Department that I needed another day on the water. South bound to Wabasso. Popping cork with a Matrix Shad 18 inches down, determined to get the technique down. Lost an over slot Trout, not used to a long leader. Hobart Landing was not very good in the morning. Short Ladies, Jacks, a Blue and a Sailcat. Sharks are working the are real hard. Saw one deep, and another showing a triangle. Almost lost the day, Spinner came out of the water right at the transom. Saw two more later on. Moved to take a quick shot at Hole In The Wall, played amateur and let a Red get me deep into the Mangroves. Just glad to see one. Next stop Grand Harbor, enough clearance to get under the bridge. Not a total waste, Cuda at the bridge. Small Ladies all over. Snapper getting shy, did get one barely legal pitching a mangrove for a Sheepie. Trout were not active on the Grand Harbor Flat. Fished the backsides of the bars East of the channel. Barely legal Trout were scattered. Estuary/Johns Island one Sailcat and a few Ladies Back out to work the ICW side of Johns island, more barely legal Trout. Stop by Hobart on the way home. Bluefish hit and run, fun time. Couple of casts later, a 5 plus pound Sailcat. Had 5 Sailcats on the day. More slot Trout, totaled 12 for the day. Stopped at Pine Island, Ladies a short Trout. All players released for another day.
