Clearwater to Boca

I am wanting to come down to the west coast April and May to kayak fish and am looking for suggestions on where to call home base. Definitely  wanting to stay along the coast so the wife can enjoy the beach. I can drive to launch, but it would be nice to go out from base if also. So many good looking spots on the map and some great reads online, just hoping for some insight.
