Not Bikini Weather

29 Jan 2019...Wabasso/Vero...0645, 42 degrees at the Wabasso Ramp, wind a little more than advertised.  Thought for a minute that maybe I should get a PUP with built in thermometer, bad thought, can by a thermometer on Amazon.  First stop, Pine Island, nothing happening.  Hobart Landing, skipped the island and worked the flat, Burger kind of day, ¼ and ½ pound Jacks with a side of Snapper.  Tried the ICW islands, nothing.  Little tight today, slid under the Golf Cart bridge at Grand Harbor.  Steady action, Jacks, short Snook, a pair of baby Cudas and a Little Ugly.  Cudas are early, did not see very many last year.  Lost the first Tarpon of the year.  Barely made it back out.  Estuary/Johns Island, the Big Girls are back.  Counted 7 over slot Snook and 2 overslot Trout.  No players.  Residential canal, hoping for a big Snook.  One 16 inch Trout.  Oyster Cut, looking for a Red, get a solid hit from a big Snook,  30 yard run, pump a little, 20 more yards and pulled the hook.  Poor initial hook set.  Searched long and hard for a Red to complete another Family Slam, not today.  Baby Vudu Shrimp worked overtime today.  All players released for another day.
