Sarasota fishing piers / surf fishing

Hello all,
I used to live in FL and did a LOT of boat fishing.  I moved back to PA many years ago.  Current company situation will have me coming to Sarasota a week a month for the foreseeable future.  This will begin in March or April.  Just wondering if anyone has a preference on fishing locations, rigs, bait, etc.  O do a lot of surf fishing on NJ now,  but never did much on Florida while a lived there.

Thanks in advance

Sarasota Bay would be a good place to start. Lots of area to explore.

I like the bridges in the Sarasota area a lot. If you're willing to go south a bit, the Siesta Drive, Blackburn Point, and Albee road bridges are all great spots to fish from shore. Snapper/sheepshead/a bunch of other stuff during the day, and some excellent snook fishing at night if you drift baits into the lights of the bridge.
Paddle faster, I hear banjo music.
