“ you need to play teams other than high school teams!” UCF is in a conference albeit weaker than most P5s but far from FCS. Like every other conference UCF must play a certain # of games within their conference and then schedule out of conf opponents. 2019 includes Stanford and Pitt, they are doing what they can.
”do the 2 for 1 with UF, If you don’t your scared” It doesn’t make sense financially and a real offer was never there. It was a few emails exchanged. To my knowledge the 1 wasn’t even at UCF but at the Citrus Bowl. From what Danny says, UCF makes 2million or so at each home game, so wants home homes which some P5 teams agree to some don’t. UF doesn’t so they moved on. Just an idea of the financial differences. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kristidosh/2018/12/31/lsu-vs-ucf-comparing-finances/
Above isn’t an excuse, but shows the disparity to 1team.
”the record book doesn’t list UCF” this one is odd... for years many schools have self proclaimed National Champs and not gotten this heat. Maybe because more obscurity existed back then in the polls, no idea. Bama claimed it once at 9-3 says this article. UCF did it as they felt, they did everything they could so if they didn’t have a shot, they would take it. It has helped bring more publicity to the school good or bad than doing absolutely nothing. The record book does include a colley matrix call out for UCF under Bama pg115. So it is in the record book, but the colley matrix holds much less weight than the “playoff”. Either poll/playoff aren’t sanctioned NCAA events, it’s all third party. It’s really kind of nuts. The consensus is Bama though http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/2018/FBS.pdf
My father took me to my first college football game at age six. I have been following college athletics since. Currently at 56 years of age I can honestly say some of the comments by the UCF faithful (not just on this forum) are some of the most ludicrous comments I have ever heard concerning how college athletics, particularly Football actually work.
I can only speculate because I have not researched the true demographic of the fan base but my guess would be it is a much younger fan base than most established programs. Which brings me to my point. The mindset of many of Millennial's and Generation X'ers differs from previous generations. We are champions because "we say so" or we dont have to play a tougher schedule or go 2 for 1 and work our way up like every other building program before of us has done for generations. The sign the UCF fan is holding in one of the above links typifies my point . "Let us in we are your worst nightmare" .Noooo you don't just get in. Like everything else in life that is worth having you need to earn it. . It is a sign of the times unfortunately. I do realize many of the comments made on both sides of the argument are trolling and for effect, but cant help but think there is some truth in my opinion.
At the end of the day it is only college football and half the fun of it is talking trash back and forth so troll on you UCF Warriors or Knights..... whatever your name is.
We know that the Coley poll has them as Champs. But, both on here and many other places fans are claiming the NCAA says they’re co champs. That is absolutely not true. And outside of UCF fans no one considers them champs. Until they prove they are more than a two or thee season team, and play quality teams, they will remain an also ran.

I guess don’t hate on UCF fans hate on NCAA for listing it. I see your point and I am not a huge advocate of the champ parade etc. if we didn’t do it, would have gameday showed up this past year? Who knows.
Again the quality team issue , it’s a conference issue and UCF tries to rectify each year. Past two years hurricanes canceled some P5 games and this year is Pitt and Stanford. Scheduling isn’t easy for a good G5 as bigger names are picking FCS teams for their out of conference vs Home Homes. I don’t know enough about the financials except for what the AD and others are saying, but it doesn’t seem like a great financial to do 2-1s. And doesn’t seem to be a great deal for a UF either or other P5s as they have everything to lose and little to gain as they are supposed to beat G5’s. Lot risk, little reward.
ucf wants to get into a P5 but until it happens which could be a decade should UCF not make noise when we go undefeated with a weaker SoS? Just be silent and complacent? Hoping for a expanded playoff so it happens on the field and less the impact of the secret meeting who picks and chooses top4

If UCF loses $2 mil a home game, then UF would lose $6 mil since our revenue is three times yours, using your logic. But UCF doesn't lose that money since it doesn't lose a home game. more then likely your AD knows Florida would bring a huge increase in revenue and wants that, but he isn't getting it. If he is serious about improving the SOS he would have taken the offer.
You claimed the NCAA recognized UCF as co champs. If you and UCF want to claim your champs. as other teams have, go ahead. Just don't claim the NCAA backs up your claim that is where many have an issue. You are trying to give it false legitimacy.
I thought it was only a matter of time before expansion to 8 teams was inevitable. With the impact to the "lesser" bowls I question how far off expansion will be.

It would lose a home game in the “offer”, it was 2 games there for 1 neutral place aka citrus bowl. So a G5 school must be financially disadvantaged to get a better SoS? This is why this sport is so crazy, as people believe this to be true. “You must put the time in, and have good season”. This is supposed to be all the same division. Imagine if other sports were this way, to get a chance to win it all you must be at a financial disadvantage more than you already are being a G5. It’s insane.
So the reference to colley should be ignored? If so, why didn’t the ncaa omit it?

That is incorrect. The offer was the same one we have with USF which is two in Gainesville and one at their home stadium. That was the offer Stricklin made. White then suggested a neutral site one game series. The Gators don't need to improve their SOS. Gators SOS was 11 at the end of the year, UCF was 71.

The 8 team playoff has been discussed since the CFP was created. The next major shakeup in TV rights is around 2022 to 2025. In my opinion, when those contracts come up for renegotiation may be the time for them to do an 8 team expansion and redo all the bowls. There may even be some shakeup int he conferences at the time.
It will all depend on where the most money will be made. If the Networks offer more money for a 8 game playoff, it will likely happen,

Like Cad said, Colley had Alabama as champs in 2016, but no one, including them, said they were champs. The NCAA included ALL the polls used to rank teams for the playoffs. Not just Colley. The facts, no matter how bad UCF doesn’t like them, are that if their SOS doesn’t improve, they are going to continue down the path of the last two seasons. And yes, it absolutely is fair. Would you deny that it’s much easier to win playing in the AAC than in the SEC? Or in any of the other P5 conferences? Until the bowl game, UCF played ONE ranked school, and they were 24th.

You claimed it was a 2 here and one neutral which was never an offer. The only comment made by Stricklin publicly was a 2 here and one at UCF. Stricklin s not going to call and offer a game to UCF. The Gators don't need UCF. If the UCF AD is serious. he has to make the first move and notify UF and other Power 5 teams he wants to play them and accept their terms. It won't work any other way since UCF is the school that need to improve its SOS. We were scheduled to play UCF before and UCF paid $100,000 to get out of the deal. Why would we go after UCF?
I am 100% positive that UF would gladly give UCF a 2 for 1 deal, but UF is not going to make any other deal as there is zero benefit to the Gators to play UCF.

Well it started because some, not all, thought UF pushed to not play UCF at Peach bowl. So UCF was bummed as we were there last year and it’s an easy commute plus fun to play UF. So people were pointing at Stricklin as he is on the committee. I assume he wasn’t involved.
So he got word people though lt UF was ducking UCF so this talk started. It may not be 2 and 1 at citrus bowl, but that’s what i understood. Do you know why the UF/UCF game did not happen in the Peach Bowl? The Peach Bowl got an agreement that they would not get UCF two years in a row. It was the Peach Bowl who didn't want UCF.
I am glad all the other Power 5 teams are willing to do a 1 for 1. I can't wait to see UCF play FSU or Georgia or Alabama or Clemson or even Tennessee. Maybe Auburn wants revenge to the bowl game. Can't wait to see those games.
UCF doesn’t need UF either as other P5s are open to home homes so we didn’t bother either. Just didn’t make financial sense for either team which is ok
Exactly they aren't scared like the Gaoters are.
Greatest of all time ers
you are sweet for sayin so conch fritter you are always wrong, except for this. Thanks again, warms my hearts every time I read it.
The only thing we are scared of, is that scheduling FSU will hurt our sos. Maybe we should replace FSU with ucf

You are wrong more than a broken clock, as usual you don't have a clue.
Ucf plays Stanford and Pitt in 19. I don’t know whether it was a home home or not because they were prolly scheduled 5-7 years ago
If you don't know if it was a 1 for 1, then why did you say other teams were willing to do a 1 for 1?
Because I didn’t look it up and this was probablg established years ago before our current AD
But you made the statement that other power 5 teams were willing to do a 1 for 1. then posted those teams. Now you say you don't know if they were 1 for 1. Could you post the power 5 teams you were claiming that will give UCF a 1 for 1 offer currently? You said they existed, your AD must have a list of teams that have made offers.

“ you need to play teams other than high school teams!”
UCF is in a conference albeit weaker than most P5s but far from FCS. Like every other conference UCF must play a certain # of games within their conference and then schedule out of conf opponents. 2019 includes Stanford and Pitt, they are doing what they can.
”do the 2 for 1 with UF, If you don’t your scared”
It doesn’t make sense financially and a real offer was never there.

Above isn’t an excuse, but shows the disparity to 1team.
”the record book doesn’t list UCF”
this one is odd... for years many schools have self proclaimed National Champs and not gotten this heat. The consensus is Bama though

At the end of the day it is only college football and half the fun of it is talking trash back and forth so troll on you UCF Warriors or Knights..... whatever your name is.

a two or thee season team, and play quality teams, they will remain an also ran.
You claimed the NCAA recognized UCF as co champs. If you and UCF want to claim your champs. as other teams have, go ahead. Just don't claim the NCAA backs up your claim that is where many have an issue. You are trying to give it false legitimacy.

So the reference to colley should be ignored? If so, why didn’t the ncaa omit it?

The Gators don't need to play UCF and there is no benefit in doing so. UCF need to play better opponents to improve their SOS, whether it is the Gators or some other P5 team. Your AD better swallow his pride if he wants the team to ever be considered in playoffs. I don't think he really wants to.
The same book lists Alabama as #1 in the Colley polls in 2016. I do not remember anyone claiming Bama was the Co champion that year.
The same book also says the CFP determines the National Champion and it just lists any major selector who had a different number one than the National Champion.
As I said, if you wish to pretend you were champs, go ahead. Just don't make false claims that the NCAA backs up your claim since they do not.

It will all depend on where the most money will be made. If the Networks offer more money for a 8 game playoff, it will likely happen,

Alabama has claimed plenty of champs not belonging
UCF 70
Alabama 64
Unfortunately, few will take the UCF basketball team seriously until they quit scheduling over-rated SEC creampuffs like Alabama.
I am 100% positive that UF would gladly give UCF a 2 for 1 deal, but UF is not going to make any other deal as there is zero benefit to the Gators to play UCF.

So he got word people though lt UF was ducking UCF so this talk started. It may not be 2 and 1 at citrus bowl, but that’s what i understood. Understood meaning a real written offer never existed so I could be wrong. UCF doesn’t need UF either as other P5s are open to home homes so we didn’t bother either. Just didn’t make financial sense for either team which is ok
where is the delusional part? Or why is this a joke? Please explain
I am glad all the other Power 5 teams are willing to do a 1 for 1. I can't wait to see UCF play FSU or Georgia or Alabama or Clemson or even Tennessee. Maybe Auburn wants revenge to the bowl game. Can't wait to see those games.

plus I agree with the peach bowl assertion, they don’t want the same team twice in a row

you are always wrong, except for this. Thanks again, warms my hearts every time I read it.
The only thing we are scared of, is that scheduling FSU will hurt our sos. Maybe we should replace FSU with ucf
