Another UCF vs LSU thread

Well, more of LSU's starters for both offense and defense are dropping. New score predictions? I thought UCF was going to win regardless but I say UCF might win by 10-12 points now. Once Mack settles down in the pocket he will be dropping long bombs and finding clean routes to run. UCF's O-line is fairly good and they seem to adapt well. Especially with some of their defensive stars out of the game, UCF's o-line shouldnt have their hands as full.

The NCAA should stop that sitting out bowl game crap. These guys get to go to school free, and get ready for the NFL at the Schools expense. If they choose to sit out, they shouldn’t allow them to be drafted for the next two years. If I was a coach or a teammate, I would be highly po’ed at guys who refuse to play.

I already wanted UCF to win, now I hope they slaughter LSU.

I sort of agree with you, but these guys are risking multi million dollar contracts on one game. They play the bowl game and get injured badly, they could lose millions. The NCAA covers something like $200,000 for a disabling injury.

Never said they did. Can you actually read? Why don’t you tell us more about Jimbo not leaving FSU?

I'm with CAD (Maybe?), I would sit out. For starters the cream of the crop isn't there to learn, they are there to play ball.  We like to pretend otherwise but college sports is a business, plain and simple.  Secondly an injury is costly.  Why risk millions for a school that makes money off your back and doesn't pay?  The free education is a joke, Bama (as an example) recruits to win, they don't recruit for educational purposes.  As for the kids, they get NFL ready at the "school's expense"???? Lol, you have to be joking.  The big programs make millions upon millions upon millions off these kids.  If anything these schools make millions at the expense of these kids.

The CFP tv contract was reportedly 5.6 billion...  I'm sorry, but who is taking advantage of whom?

Nick Saban has an 8 year 74 million dollar contact...  there is absolutely nothing amateur about college sports.

Barrett, Reddish and Williamson...  did Duke accept their enrollment for their brains or athleticism?  College sports is a business, it is time to be honest about that.

I don’t see where I said they could or would. I said that’s what I would like to see done. If you need an explanation of one of my posts, just shoot me an IM and I’ll explain it to you in small, one and two syllable words.

Coaches get performance and milestone bonuses and extra games bring huge revenue to the schools. Players get nothing. I would sit as well

lol the NCAA has no say in what the NFL does. The NFL would prefer they sit out , and not risk injury, so no way that ever happens.

You think they should be required to payback their tuition fees if they sign multi-million dollar contracts?

    1st quarter, Knights up 14 to 3.
LSU qb had his bell rung.

So far it looks like UCF is for real. They win this game they should be top 5 preseason next year, IMO.

I think you are right. The refs are letting them play. Ucf got the benefit of a picked up flag that should have stood. Should be a good game
edit, I didn’t realize LSU was missing so many starters

Well, LSU has made a comeback. Looks like a great game so far. UCF takes the early lead and then LSU says we ain't Auburn and comes back with 21 unanswered points.

COming into the game I'm sure LSU had some concerns playing against the defending National Champions, but it looks like they have shook off the jitters

At half time it is 24 to 21 in favor of LSU. One of the best games this post season.

LSU is going to pull away.  UCF simply doesn't have the defense.

On a side note, could the Big 10 be anymore overrated?  Michigan, Purdue and now Penn State are all getting decimated in their bowl games.

    Penn State trying to comeback.

LSU  needs to put this game away and quit playing around when they get in the red zone.

Wow total domination of UCF by a 3 loss SEC also ran that is not even a top 10 team.

That is why people laugh when the UCF bots shriek that they are national champions.

Total yards: LSU 546 UCF 208

First downs: LSU 32 UCF 17

    Sacks: LSU 5 UCF 2

Passing yards: LSU 385 UCF 78

Rushing yards: LSU 161 UCF 130

    Plays: LSU 86 UCF 61

    Defense had little tackling ability
Size matters...LSU line was much bigger..on both sides
Besides mistakes by UCF QB, the receivers had lazy hands
I was not born stupid, just had lots of practice

Kudos to the SEC, great performances in a variety of bowl games.  Clearly the best conference in the league.

UCF should be preseason top 15 after that game, imo.

Sure was. That's why the only stat that was kinda close was the score.

So, using the UCF logic of last year, that makes the Gators state Champions. We beat FSU and we beat LSU that beat UCF and Miami.  :)
