Yozuri bonita Lure

Thinking of adding one of these to the tackle box.  My plan is to run it along with my normal spreed to have a deep option.  That being said it will be slower speed than the normal HST.  The rest of the spread will be various ilanders, etc., targeting more towards mahi and hoping for a wahoo on the off-bite.    I like the flying fish color but not sure if I should go with the 6 3/4" or the 8 1/4" size.   Thinking the smaller one might be better considering I'll be trolling in the 7-10mph speed most of the time.   Would love to hear comments from those who use these lures......thanks

at a wahoo seminar the speaker was asked about these style lures, he said they get hit no doubt about it, but in his experience he lost a lot more fish on these than other lures so doesnt pull them anymore. at slower speeds i would think a diving plug may produce better action but no doubt those get bit.

I've had good luck with the yozuri bonitas in 6 3/4" and have not lost many fish (if any at all) on them. I like to run them on a trolling lead with 60' of 60# Ande Pink between the lure & lead (like we talked about in the other thread). I run them at about 8 knts. The Dolphin pattern and black/purple have been most effective for me. Dolphin love them👍👍

Look into the Nomad DTX Minnow diving plug in the 200MM size for a deep running lure. The Long Range boats out of San Diego have been having a lot of success with them and they used to swear by the Yozuris.
