port canaveral offshore/port entry

went offshore yesterday, bumpy ride out. got to 14 miles due east of the port. hit blue water and dropped the lines in. blue/white seawitch with ballyhoo and 16 oz cigar weight trolled way out, that got nailed many times. we got a nice king and one bonita.  no dolphin or sailfish. saw a big blackfin tuna jump about 5 ft out of the water. we had to come in early due to storms forming offshore and moving toward us. we got back to port canaveral and by marker 11, we saw lots of spanish mackerel jumping and caught many just trolling gulfstream jigs. great day, lots of fish and the boat ran great. when weather permits, drop everything and go fishing!!! the fish are out there. a great way to get the relatives out and show what a great place we live and not go to the theme parks.

Used to love offshore fishing in the cooler months here in the east Central region. Especially in December.Wahoo,dolphin,sailfish,blackfins.
