FPI 12/3

Fished from 75 out to about 130 north of the inlet. One 12 lb King on a Rapala. Got short bit 4-5 times today on Ballyhoos. A bit rough out so was weary of going too far out. Called it a day and headed in @2pm. Weather was accurate. 10-15 south west wind with 2-3 foot swells @10 seconds with tight chop on top.

I also went out of FPI today and it was bumpy up until about 1pm out past 15 mi east. 2 dolphin in 300’ , one got off that was easily 25lb bull. SW wind made for a lot of work live baiting and maintaining course. Way to go on the king

Agreed it was a bit sloppy today....We ended up with a couple of mahi and a nice king.   The day started great, we had a big cuda within the first 10 mins and then it went slow for a couple of hours before we got the two mahi.  Definitely spent a lot of time clearing hooks.

In the ten years I have lived here we have caught many more mahi and kings while on anchor not trolling. Its all about the chum line you establish.
