I finally got to check out an Accurate Tern 500x earlier today. I was very impressed by it and one thing that stood out to me was the small size of this reel. I think it may be the same size or smaller than my Shimano Torium 16 HGAL and it was very light. I compared it with the Shimano Torium 30 PGA and I think I'll spend the extra bucks for the Tern low speed when it gets on the market. One of the things I liked about the Tern, aside from the overall weight and smoothness of it, was the position of the free spool lever. It's more on the top of the frame so when you put the reel in free spool the lever doesn't go all the way horizontal so if a fish hits while you're still dropping your bait or lure it will be easier to flip the reel into gear. Today was also the first day I checked out the Accurate Valiant. The shop I was in didn't have the 500n, just the 500, but I was very impressed with how small these reels are and I've heard how powerful they are so, once again, I'm very impressed with them. Does anyone have any comments about the Accurate Tern reels that you can add to the very limited analysis that I did today?
