Tesla is giving Chinese government location data of all of their cars in China.

We shouldnt have to worry about that happening here. ;)

When Shan Junhua bought his white Tesla Model X, he knew it was a fast, beautiful car. What he didn’t know is that Tesla constantly sends information about the precise location of his car to the Chinese government.

All electric vehicles in China do the same thing.  Government requirements.

China is an interesting country, up until a few years ago videogames were illegal.

At least they are overt about it.

Our government collects that type of data, from every one of our phones, and lies to us about it, until someone exposed all that.

I would suppose it was that last part that was suggested by Battery's wink.....Mike

Are they not still collecting that data?  The poor guy ruined his life and as it turns out, no one cares about privacy.

Yes, they are, but some contend they have changed the type of data being collected.

I'm not sure I believe them.  Do you?

That's a very good point about China being overt about it.
Our gov't isn't special in any way, shape or form and is not somehow "more trustworthy" than China's, or Russia's or whatever.  Hell, look at our pathetic excuse of a Justice Department, and our intelligence arm(s). Political, unprofessional and led by frankly appallingly stupid people who have somehow risen to a high rank in gov't.  And I'm not being partisan here...
there are very intelligent folks who I disagree with in gov't (Bernie for example).

But these scumbags like Strzok, Comey, Clapper Brennan..
I do appreciate that China is honest and makes no bones about it.

And Snowden really miscalculated American's values.  It is a shame.

Since the Patriot Act, does anyone think we are any different?
