Shrimp in downtown Jax?

I work downtown and seldom notice any boats fishing on the river from the Main Street Bridge to 95.  This afternoon, there were at least a dozen crab boats and/or skiff's trolling around just south of CSX and Shad's yacht and I could see a couple throw nets.  Hard to tell exactly since i'm on the 24th floor a couple blocks away.  Would they have been targeting shrimp this late in the year?

Yep, last of the roe mullet run. The fronts move them this time of year.

Just wondering, where do they sell their catch?  And what is the market for the roe (foreign or domestic)?  What happens to the remainder of the mullet, is it marketable or just discarded?

It all gets used. Mixed market for the roe. In the old days mullet roe was a big deal in the fish market, as was shad roe.
