Doesn't seem like these people want to peacefully enter the US. Bull rushing gates, throwing rocks over the gates at Border Patrol and generally raising a ruckus.

You would think after walking a few miles and then being bused to the border they would wait for the US to let them enter peacefully one at a time.

I read they are processing around 100 a day.  The only thing they have to wait in Mexico while their asylum request is being processed.

They aren't allowing them in the US.

Probably because they're trying to break down gates, climb over fences and force their way in.

That isn't going to do it.
Stand in line and get interviewed, approved and come on in.

    Not hard to understand.

Doing things the right way was never part of their plan

I have to agree with Westwall.  I don't buy into the "they want to come here, integrate and be part of the working society."  The last set of data I pulled up (a few weeks ago) has 72% of central american immigrants on SNAP and/or welfare.  Though there are those who want to ignore the numbers because.

Oh really?  What makes you say that?

Or are you suggesting the actions of the few should be extended to the entire group?

    Just curious...

The actions I have been seeing has not been a "few". More like hundreds if not thousands. And to quell your possible next comment, it was not on Fox News.

IMO, there doesn't appear to be any peaceful quantity lining up and waiting their turn. If you have some evidence of that, please share.

The videos I saw didn't really show a lot of violence, and the closest thing to type of behavior you described was exhibited by only a handful of people, and thus my questions.

Please share your sources.  I'd like to see it with my own two eyes as you're hardly objective on this topic -- but of course I could be wrong.

    Thanks.

Does anyone really believe that the vast majority who are declined entry due to the fact they have no legitimate claim are really gonna shrug their shoulders and say well darn?,,,, guess I will just go back

I'm surprised you need me to provide you sources with your vast knowledge of everything and being so objective.

Search NY Times, BBC, Washinton Post, CNN, etc.

Search "migrants rushing border" and you should be able to see all you want.

By the way, what happened to your "I will never respond to you again" pledge to me?

    Couldn't stay away?

Not that people doing exactly that will convince you, but I'll leave this for those of us who may not recognize that you don't have any idea what you're talking about:

"If we remain here, with each day we'll just end up worse," Rodriguez said.

He and his wife were part of the group that marched to the border on Sunday and were sprayed with tear gas.

He said that after witnessing what happened, and seeing children get hurt, he has decided to go back to Honduras to figure things out there, rather than to remain "exposed" in Tijuana.

I guess we need to scramble the A-10s or hope for another hurricane.

Mexico did say they were going to deport trouble makers. They got a few today.

They lose a lot of money when the border is closed.

I have been looking for the videos.  I can't find anything of the sort.   I did see a bunch of people running around what appears to be a large canal near San Diego and some tear gas fired in the distance.  I'll just surmise that's what you saw and conclude accordingly.

Since you asked, the reason I responded to your thread is the ignore feature doesn't work when you start a thread and I hadn't realized it was you.  After responding and once I realized I made that mistake, and rather than ask a question then not respond, I took you off ignore.

\Thank for the reminder, though -- I'll try not to make that mistake again.

When we look at Auschwitz we see the end of the process. It's important to remember that the Holocaust actually did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanisation & escalating violence.

Strange choice of quotes.  Its doesn't relive you of the fact you are still comparing the extermination and murder of 5 million Jewish people to a few thousand Central Americans fleeing their country because its poor.   Did you get this from CNN?

It's the Germans hatred and methods that are an apt comparison, not the victims.

Come on Bimini how long have you posted here? LOL  besides this reply digs the hole deeper.  Hatred and methods what are you talking about??

Explain how the hatred and methods the **** used against the Jews is comparable in this situation?

I watched some of the videos and listened to several news outlets. It definitely looked like a lot more then a "few". Mexico's gov't released a statement that it was at least 500 while our Border Patrol says around 1000.

The quote from the Auschwitz Memorial does exactly that.

The quote from the Auschwitz Memorial does exactly that.
The problem is the quote assumes the positions here are emotion based, when many (including me) have a position based more on a business perspective.

Meaning being anti caravan isn't based on hate, race or any other silly buzz word.  Some, again including myself, just don't see the value added (business perspective) by allowing the caravan in.  There is a major difference, but I suppose it is just easier for you to scream "race" every 30 seconds then taking the 30 seconds to understand what people are actually stating.

I am also thankful.  As is many a business owner and politician, who see the opportunity to continue living the good life on the backs of that cheap, unskilled labor.

How bad are the conditions the Rodriquez couple are fleeing if a "spray" of "tear gas" is all it takes to send them home?
Perhaps they should consider applying for asylum in Mexico.
Of course, the people waiting patiently and not rushing the border haven't had repellents used on them.
  • surfmansurfman Posts: 6,017 Admiral

The simple truth is that these people are not seeking asylum or they would have done that already in Mexico. Asylum from what, anyway? They have been coached into believing they can come into our country and will be accepted by our government with minimal problems. There has been some truth to that over the years too unfortunately and so there in lies the problem. The same people that brought us slavery now bring us this problem, we all know how slavery ended, can’t wait to see how this ends. They need the votes to keep the power.
