Lobster bisque, filet mignon, fresh oysters on the half shell, grilled Scamp and a ice cold imported beer. You people really need to learn how to fish in style!
Res you knew that was a joke what Cad posted and directed at you. Nothing negative about your wife at all with that post. And what you said was funny back without knowing she had passed. Don’t be so sensitive. Learn to take it since you dish it out so much.

I'll second Tarp's comment, sorry to hear that CAD.

Shame that some people get overly sensitive on forums. I imagine most of us face to face on the water or in the woods would get along great.
Back to the OP.... when it’s just me and my oldest son I generally pick up a few biscuits from Hardee’s on the way to his house, knock those down on the way to the ramp. On the water, it’s usually just water/ gatoraid, coffee when it’s cold. When he was little I always stopped at a convenience/tackle store that had good fried chicken, so once in a blue moon we’ll take some Publix chicken.
When my grandson comes (5 years old), we bring chicken and every snack imaginable. Little guy can eat like a termite going through a starter home.
I force my self to eat because a lot of times I do what Tarp does and just keep fishing without eating. I found at the end of the day I am better off if I have been eating. Trolling out of Chub (or anywhere else for that matter) for marlin and constantly clearing lines from the green death or weed in some cases is tiresome as hell. Eating and staying hydrated really helps. Have done the drink beer all day thing over there and you are hurting and just tired at the end of the day. Like doing the drinking at the end of the day now
I made this for my crew tonight on my boat... Orange peel chicken..
Life is too short to eat bad food.. Last night was ropa vieja, tomorrow will be smoked ribs. Enjoy your sammiches n slim Jim's...
I want coffee and toast on my boat, that must be awesome! The FooFoo chicken looks like too much to clean up though. I'll stick with beanee weenee on the drive home.

The crew cleans up, and to be fair, this is on a tugboat where there is a regimented watch system running 24/7, rather than a chaotic back deck of a open fish trying to handle a couple dolphin for the day. However, when I operated various fishing boats around the world, we ate just as good, but I had a crew ranging in size from 4- 10.
My mate actually took the photo above this evening in the galley and I found it funny when I tuned in here that there was a thread on Boat Food...

Generally it's sandwiches and snacks -- nothing special.
To be honest, I generally don't eat much when I'm fishing even if I'm out there for a long time, so the food is more for others.

I am just here for my amusement.
