Almost there...

Well, today makes #125. If I'm able to get one more it will tie my best year ever (2015).

I left the house today in the rain but by the time I had my coffee and put gas in the boat it was over.
I went to my first spot and there was acres of mullet. I caught two small snook and two mid slot Trout. I was most happy with the trout because that keeps me from having to go find one later. I left there and hit a few spots and picked up two more small snook and a couple ladyfish. I knew my Redfish spot would need a few more inches of incoming tide so I decided to waste some gas and time and run south to check conditions....the water was full of bait but was filthy everywhere I looked. Ugh! I got as far down as Grand Harbor. I decided to hit one "likely spot" before starting back north again...and...

9:30 and that makes # 125

Ran back north and hit a couple spots...got another better sized snook and jumped off another. I had a big trout on that shook off and I also picked this guy off.

I also made the mistake of throwing into a bunch of fish busting....and it was those big jacks again...lots of fun up shallow.
So...5 snook 2 trout and 2 Reds.

I hope to fish tomorrow but I have to pick the wife up at Orlando airport...and they always seem like long evenings of flight delays and then a long drive home...we'll see.

    And....we're there.

I hit my first spot and pulled two decent mid twenties snook....and threw the net and got a few baits.
Next was looking for a trout and it took a couple spots but once found I caught two and a jack & Lady...could have stayed and caught more but knew I needed the time to do the Red. Saw a couple but was totally refused....it took two solid hours of looking...and  only got one take....but...

126 ...That's the tie for my best season (2015) .... What does that mean? Is the river on a comeback?... doubtful....but it does mean there are fish there to be caught.

I've been doing my best to not be out there catching any fish (or hunting) so that you could catch them all !... Ok, not really, but it sure feels that way.

Glad to see and know the fish are there -- time to get out and see what I can find.

Nice work on setting a new goal for next season -- and you aren't done with raising the bar yet either!

The key is to not raise it too far....so you feel like you have a chance to beat your mark.... LOL
