After a crazy week at work, the wife and I were looking forward to a couple days of bending rods. Launched Saturday morning having made the decision we would keep some fish for the freezer. It didn't take long for the wife to find the mangos lying in wait under the docks, but under sized for what we were looking for. Hit a mangrove stretch, and I was next with a nice snook that came unbuttoned right at the boat and a nice trout trout that went back despite being keeper size; both on white DOA CAL with 1/4 oz red jig head. We then went to fish docks with shrimp and had a blast catching fish the whole time. The wife brought a really nice moonfish in the boat, which is the second in as many weeks. The rest of the time was mangos, jacks, a convict and cats. Stopped to fish some mangroves on the way home and picked up another keeper trout that went in the box. Brought home 1 trout, 1 sheepy and 4 mangos.

This morning started very much the same as yesterday with a nice snook that shook the hook, followed by a keeper trout both on white CAL. Next we hit some markers to let the wife have some fun plucking mangos. She had a blast and we put 1 in the box. After making our way to Vero stopping at docks, we took a break and stopped in the Riverside Cafe to watch our "Phins beat the Bears in OT. Hit some mangroves on the way home where Laura picked up a small jack. As far as the mullet, they were THICK in the river heading south; almost looked like you could walk across them. Had fun watching a pod of dolphin circling and feeding on mullet not far from the boat. All-in-all it was a great weekend on the boat bending rods.
