How to delete a post in progress?

I type in a post response in a thread and complete or don't complete my thoughts.

Then I decide I want to delete that post entirely.

How can that be accomplished here?

Same question regarding a posted image - how can an image be deleted?

Would appreciate any assistance from any source.
