Home East Central General Fishing & The Outdoors

And another...

So, I took the weekend off to hunt ducks with my son.  We had a great two days with a limit of Wood Ducks for each of us.

He had the opportunity to get some overtime on Monday so I decided to fish.  It was no surprise that all the rain we had this weekend really trashed up the water.  I was able to catch a nice Trout in the dark....and catch 7 snook throwing to windy points.... I actually saw 3 Reds...but with poor conditions they were pretty close and spooky...no Red.

Tuesday we hunted again and again we each killed a limit of wood ducks.

Mine...

I was faced with a choice for the morning...hunt alone since it was my sons duty day...or fish....I opted for fish.
I saw topwater guy was already launched when I got to Yacht club. My first spot was empty but the second one was loaded with mullet and I was able to get 3 snook and a very nice trout...along with a ladyfish and jack. I went in search of Redfish...but it was snook after snook... till I was at 7. Broke off a couple also.
The wind had died off and it was getting very hot. The one Red I saw disappeared under a bush never to be seen again. It was starting to get oppressively hot and I saw some bait scatter just ahead...pitched in and....

Many things to do.
