One more

It has been a hot miserable grind for a week now.  I have been able to get a trout....and multiple Snook each morning but Redfish have been elusive. Yesterday, I didn't even see one!  Most days I see one...maybe two but the water is now a boiling hot mess of poop soup. With Vis most places at a foot or less....I just am not getting enough advance warning to make a good presentation....they are literally at my feet. And then the other day when I had a take....it came unbuttoned.
Today I got lucky. My first spot in the dark was a lighted dock...and when the trout I saw would not eat a CAL....I offered a mullet...that was accepted.  Great...off to look for snook. But...it was better than that....

So,  now I feel confidence.... Ran to a snook spot and it did not take too long to get a decent one about 22 inches.....then another small one....but I was happy...It was only 7AM that makes #109
Since the pressure was off...I went just "fishing"....and caught 8 nice trout

and a mangrove snapper.   It was really hot so I quit at 9:40...
I'm glad I added one more since duck season (early) starts Saturday so I'll be off to do some of that after tomorrow.

Are you fishing south?  Tide looks tough for a morning bite around Wabasso....

Not lately..... Sebastian to Wabasso today but have been up as far as Grant Farm Island this week. Water was good up there for a while....and I was seeing good snook....but water junked out.

Nice!  Eight trout later in the morning, now I consider that more of a feat right now than a slam!

Make that two more.  But I am definitely not fishing this weekend.

I was literally right behind topwater guy at the ramp today. There was some lightning and storms around so I did not plan to go too far.  I got lucky on my first spot with tons of bait and getting slammed.....got a snook. I also thru the net once and got too many baits...dumped half back.  Next spot I have so much bait I toss some....and have three fish in a row pull off.....put the  CAL back on and catch 2 trout....off to find a Red.   I went a lot of places....and every windy point overhang held a snook.....and by 11 AM I was at 11 snook but had only seen 1 Red. I saw the weather closing in again so I decided to pin on a fresh bait and pitch the last two bump outs on the shoreline.....
