The Snook of Oscar Scherer
Last week on my way from NE Florida to Sanibel to visit family and of course fish I made a quick stop at Oscar Scherer State Park to see what I could get to bite. I got lucky and I hit all the conditions right for an hour of non-stop snook action on artificials. I felt fortunate in that I did not see any effects of the red tide in this area. Unfortunately when I got down to my destination I saw the effects from Estero Bay to Charlotte Harbor. The red tide areas that I did see were in pockets and could be avoided. It was so odd to see so few boats out on a weekend.
