How long did the arrow behind the leg take to work?
I backed out for about 15 minutes but eventually went in from behind and sat on him and cut the spine with a knife, he seemed pretty subdued by then but would surprise me every now and again and start moving. Even after all that when I was walking home occasionally he would start to flex, wiggle and claw a little. I'm sure it was just nerves but it was pretty freaky. I could see lung blood coming from the broadhead hole.
I’m going to be trying something similar next weekend. Boat side dispatch won’t be an option for me. Apparently lung shots are commonly used on African crocodiles. A big enough hole in the lungs will either make them drown or make them crawl out of the water so they can be shot some more.
