Mahi out of Miami 8/9/18

We headed out at the crack of noon. Ran out from Elliott to about 1200’. Seas weren’t bad, got better as we went out. Found a few less than decent patches, with lots of almaco jacks hitting my trolled jigs. Finally got a dolphin to bite a ballyhoo. Turned out to be a school of decent size mini gaffers, about 31”. We got 1 in the boat while still having one hooked in the water, and the school abandoned their hooked friend. Can back in by 3 with a couple fish for a few meals.

Yea those jacks can be brutal! They crush the rattle jets I pull.
Ticks me off bc then that lure is out of action for a fin to attack!
