While your at it google the 17 billion dollar economic impact that commercial fishing had on the State of Fl last year..
Rec fishing made it to 7.6 billion, quite a difference..
Hey Art, care to post up your source of these figures?
Marco Rubio letter to a rec fisherman.. I was kind of shocked too, I figured the difference would be closer.
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

The last 6 that I have bought were Avets, made in California, I believe that is still part of the USA. Although some might disagree. All my Internationals are old and they hail from Pennsylvania. Rods are all custom, not real sure where the blanks are made, I will inquire when I pick up my new ones this week.

Northwest is pretty good in Gville. The Freezer in Homasassa. I guess a lot of towns cater to tourists and the food is meh. I am still amazed at all the places that seem to favor cod and tilapia...
Florida's commercial fisheries generate $17.7 billion of sales, $3.3
billion of income, and $5.9 billion of value added and support 92,858
jobs, including imports. Commercial fishing, without imports, generate $1 billion of sales, $262 million of income, and $400 million of value added."
Using $16.6 billion in imported seafood to mask the real number of $1 billion in actual Florida commercial fishing when comparing with American recreational fishing revenues of $8 billion Art?
Florida is like its own country when it comes to recreational fishing numbers - it's time to understand and appreciate just how much more important recreational fishing is to our nation than commercial fishing, and to to correct the inequities created by the commercial bias in our federal fisheries management.

we import bait for stone crab and lobster,
Y'all buy imported outboards..
17,7 billion still trumps 7.6 billion..
Y'all used to use just ex-vessel value for commercial and the whole spectrum for rec. to skew the #'s in your favor.
kinda backfired on y'all.
