Marco Guide

Can any of you guys give me some sugestions for a guide out of Marco Is. I am looking for someone that can do inshore as well as grouper and  permit trips offshore. Thanks.

Stop for a minute and think about what your asking for.A boat
that can get you out and back 30 miles+ and then can move
in 12"of water.Couple of years I fell for that nonsense when local
guide said his boat could easily do that.First problem, his boat
goes out with one motor 17 miles,I don't go that far offshore
with one motor. Then the guide says let's fish inshore.Second
problem,"Oh,I have to stay in the channel, otherwise we will get
    stuck"
Total waste of $250! Pick one or the other.

Well said... the only exception are guides that have two (or more) boats - one for offshore and another for inshore...

No, I'm not one of them since all I have is my beat up old Maverick (but I do know a few back towards the Keys).. my ideal second skiff would be a micro in the 15' range - set up as simply as possible - tiller steering, no bait well, and designed to be poled all day long with only one angler aboard... strictly lure or fly only...

Back to the original question... I'm sure that local shops in the Marco/Naples area know of more than one guide who can "do it all"...    That said, though, if it were me I'd concentrate on one or the other and either fish entirely inshore or entirely offshore...

Good luck on whatever you choose.  There are some great guides in that area (I'm not one of them - Port of the Islands is as far west as you'll ever find me...).

Gonna be hard to find one that does both.

    Best offshore imho -
    Fishy Bizness
    Vic Vasquez - (239) 280-7260

    Inshore -
Lots of great guys to choose from.  Cant think of everyone right now but here are a few -
    Ken Chambers
    Aron Blaisdel
    Joey Benko
    Bill Faulkner
    Chris Turner
    Chris McCubbin

If you're looking for inshore south of here (Flamingo/Keys) Bob Lemay is your choice.

    Good Luck!

Thanks “ Mangroovin” I do know what I’m asking for. There is such a thing as owning 2 boats. Or a Gause 26. I’m not asking to go out 30 miles in a Maverick. One familiar name I’ve seen is Joey Benko. I’ll contact the 2 guys for offshore. Mainly looking for a guy that works the areas in or offshore to get you on fish. Not one that just wants to make 8 hours put you on some mangrove and lane snapper and call it a day.
