July 13 - 15 Middle Grounds Trip

A friend called me up a couple of days ago and informed me that he had booked me on a Middle Grounds trip out of Tarpon Springs last weekend, so I loaded up and left the house around 5 am on Friday and got to tarpon springs about an hour before they let us check in. Our first stop was a Mangrove snapper and B-liners spot.  The boat did catch a couple of smaller ARS, but they didn't really show up till after daylight on a spot about 10 miles further west.  Also picked up some Grouper on the second spot.  We fished  a number of spots over the next day or so and steadily caught good snapper and grouper.  It was very hot and the AC felt very good between spots.  Seems like the older I get, the tougher the heat is
