I wish I had more to report. Went out with the family on Saturday, trying to chase after some of the dolphin reports. No one said fishing with kids was easy. Ran out to the 57 line where there was lots of scattered weed and the occasional patch, mostly under 20'x20'. Wind and waves were definitely more than 10 knts and less than 2 feet. Hooked up with the biggest almaco I have ever seen, only to have it come unglued on the flip. Had one other short strike. We didn't fish too long (maybe 2 hours at most), it was too much to have to drive and try to constantly clear weed. Stopped and deep dropped for a few min and had some birds work in to us and saw some fish chasing bait about 30 yds from us. I pitched a piece of cut bait out, but no takers.
We headed in after than to snorkel the reef and play at the beach. No great fish, but still a pretty good day.
