First Off Florida

Found and photographed this about 10 miles off Elliot Key in June 2016.  Fea's Petrel, a species that breeds on a couple of islands in the Madeiras and Cape Verde Is.  Estimated population is only about 3,000.  They disperse throughout the Atlantic, and a couple are seen annually of N.C., but this is the first one documented off Florida.  The week before a European Storm-Petrel, also a Florida first, was photographed far offshore Ponce Inlet.  Never know what you will find out there.
