I can't imagine going into a cave in the first place.

    Well, not one like that.

Cave diving was one area of scuba that never appealed to me.

They walked in and then the cave flooded blocking their exit.

The boys, aged 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old coach entered the sprawling Tham Luang Nang Non cave after a soccer game on June 23, but near-constant rains have thwarted the search for them.

This is why I don't like soccer.

    Whatever …

I don't even like being in a room unless I know where the exits are.
    First thing I check out.

There has to be more than one.

     Know what I mean?

    In case one is blocked.

How do you see an exit before you enter? Or do you start by hating a room as soon as you walk in?

Great outcome!  Just goes to prove soccer players are some of the toughest athletes in the world.

hating? … mirror mirror on the wall are you projecting?
start checking for exits as one enters a room

if you had  been in as many dives and fire traps as I have then you'd understand

Twice I was very close to being stuck in a cave. Mainly because it was so hard to keep going forward and backwards was about impossible. The last one cured me. I’ve been to Carlsbad several times, and even though it’s marked well, it’s huge, and there’s an elevator at the bottom, I’m not really sure I could go back.
I don’t really have claustrophobia normally, but it’s different in a cave.

Because the boys were 11 to 16?

Interesting reason to dislike soccer. Any other sports you dislike because of cave celebrations?

Great news. They still have to figure out how to get them out still. As far as caves, no way. I got claustrophobic in the mine/countermine in St. Andrews Scotland. I am over 6' and 250lbs so small spaces are not for me.

They said those kids will have to learn to scuba dive real quick or wait five months for the monsoon season to end.

That was the problem. If you don't know they are sarcastic you just look like an idiot. I'll remember that. Usually people use a smiley to show sarcasm. I'll remember you smileyless sarcastic nature. :)
