An active shooter was reported at the Capital Gazette, a daily newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, on Thursday, said the Anne Arundel Police and ATF.

A Gazette reporter said multiple people were shot, according to The Baltimore Sun, which owns the Gazette

Five people were killed and several others were “gravely injured” in a shooting at the Capital Gazette in Anne Arundel County, a paper that is owned by The Baltimore Sun, according to police.

A shooter is in custody, police said.

Anne Arundel County Police initially confirmed about 3:15 p.m. that they were responding to an “active shooter” at 888 Bestgate Road, where the newspaper’s offices are located. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to the scene.

Phil Davis, a Capital Gazette crime reporter who was there at the time of the shooting, said that multiple people had been shot, as others — himself included — hid under their desks. He said there was a lone male gunman.

“Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad,” Davis wrote on Twitter as he waited to be interviewed by police. “There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”

As soon as I saw the news I opened the PalmBeach Post online. In the front page ( in the last 30 minutes)
1) man killed in Lake Worth shooting
2) 5 shot at Capitol Gazzete
3)1 shot in Riviera Beach Wednesday night
4) Man threatens shootout West Palm health facility

Then opened the TPC Palm Tribune and the Brevard News online
1) 16 yr old injured in shooting
2) shots fired during armed robbery
3) two shot in Palm City drinking......
4)Fort Pierce woman shot ex husband multiple times

But............we do not have a problem with gun violence in this country.

Seems like a (right-leaning?) crazy to me who was really upset about something the paper wrote about him.

The dude's issues are quite obvious from his twitter feed --  but I wonder what put him over the edge....

Not sure how you got right leaning considering his feed seems unintelligible unless the reader knows what he's rambling about.  I saw one tweet about trump in 2016 and it was either because he was suing a media outlet or the paper called trump unqualified.

The coward used a tool commonly used to hunt doves and quail, he was able to kill and injure at least 7 people in about 60 seconds.

 Looks like this clown had a vendetta against this paper going back years. And the “Authorities “ had been warned numerous times.

The power of the pen is as powerful as a badge in firearm. Both come with tremendous responsibilities. The ones that shrug their shoulders at those responsibilities. Here's a great example of an article that can push someone over the edge. It's all about sensationalism. I only see it getting worse

In this case the paper was doing it's job as best as I could tell. They ran a story on the perp for harassing a lady and he took offense. This simmered for 2 years with a lawsuit. Not sure but they may have run another story. He cracks. Goes in with an agenda to shoot certain people. People associated with the story.
