Who is the favorite to win the upcoming World Cup to take place in Russia summer 2018?

So, the biggest event in sport, the football world cup, Group Matches Over.

What are your thoughts? 

A strange one this year with a few big sides absent. I don't think England will win, the event is in Russia, and I think that's enough to rule us out.  It would be nice to see England make it to maybe the semis though, beating a couple of decent on the way. 

There are still very countries that won this tournament, so a new winner would be interesting. Belgium for me would be the most likely first time winner, given they have 2 of the worlds best players (Hazard, De Bruyne) in their team who can unlock matches. 

Should be exciting.

Well my bracket has Germany and Brazil in the finals with Brazil winning again but I would love to be wrong and see a first time winner as you say. Someone like Senegal would be cool!

So, who's playing? I like sports but could never get into soccer. I tried to like it and even went to a few Strikers games a long time ago but it didn't stick. Now ice hockey is a sport that I wasn't exposed to as a kid but grew to love it.

Soccer is one of those sports that I might have enjoyed playing but there's no way I can watch something so boring.  It ranks right up there with bowling as a sport to watch. 

Some would say the same about track and field but I do watch that. Not all that exciting but interesting to watch.

Hoping Croatia gets in there.  They have been playing good so far and should beat Denmark (of course anything can happen) on Sunday.  After that?  If they win, Spain or Russia will be tough

Heard a guy on the radio say if they added another goal to each sideline and a couple hidden trap doors to the field it might make it worth watching.

I enjoy world cup, but not MLS or European league.   It's exciting if you understand what's going on, and if you don't, it's just grown men kicking a ball in circles until someone accidentally kicks it into the net.   

I just can't watch as at work but if I could i definitely would be tuning in.

I'm surprised most of the games were actually exciting.  I still can't stand the fake dramatic injuries and all the stalling.

boring to watch....I played as a kid in the city where it was a really big deal...nobody kicked the ball back towards their own goal themdays......another disappointment is the scoring . many games are 1 to 0 and that winning team is pegged as superior....if final scores where like 12 to 8, then one could tell who was better.

It is amazing some of the women they find in the stands at the matches. The cameramen are obviously men!

I'm fairly confident they know exactly where those women are going to be.    Some of these women have to be models, the just happen to have the best seats, happen to have full makeup on at a professional level, and happen to be sporting the latest and greatest apparel.

Not that I care in the slightest really, they're smoke shows.
